Last week, Dark Cherry Creative had the pleasure of exhibiting at the first Wakefield Expo. Hosted at Knottingley Technology Exchange, the expo welcomed over 300 delegates, and we were proud to be part of such a thriving local business community.

Engaging with the Wakefield Business Community

One of the day's highlights was reconnecting with many familiar faces from Wakefield's business scene while meeting new contacts who had travelled from afield to attend. Events like these are a fantastic reminder of just how strong and collaborative the Wakefield business network is, and it was great to have meaningful conversations about marketing, branding, and digital strategy.

Richard's Workshop: Building an Audience Online

Our very own Richard Mansfield took to the stage to deliver a workshop on building an audience online and using it effectively in marketing. With digital platforms evolving rapidly, understanding how to attract, engage, and retain an audience is crucial for business success. Richard's session focused on practical strategies, including:


•    Identifying and understanding your audience – knowing who you are trying to reach.
•    Creating content that resonates – delivering value through storytelling and strong brand messaging.
•    Maximising digital touchpoints – effectively leveraging social media, websites, and email marketing.
•    Converting engagement into action – turning an audience into loyal customers.
The feedback from attendees was fantastic. Many left the session feeling inspired to refine their digital marketing approach.

Dark Cherry's Stand: Cans, Connections, and Cherry Gin

Richard and James handled the Dark Cherry Creative stand throughout the day, offering attendees a refreshing break with our "scan the can" cans. This little giveaway kept people hydrated and gave them a fun way to engage with us digitally.

We also ran a competition, challenging visitors to take the best selfie with our can for a chance to win a bottle of cherry gin. Seeing people get creative with their selfies added a fun and interactive element to our presence at the event.

Helping Our Clients Shine

Beyond our stand, we were thrilled to support several clients in preparing for the expo. We helped with stand designs, brochures, roller banners, and handouts, ensuring they made a strong impression on the day. Seeing our work in action across multiple stands was a proud moment for the team, reinforcing why we love what we do—helping businesses showcase their brand in the best possible way.
