We’ve recently exhibited at both the Doncaster Business Showcase and The Wakefield Expo, getting out from behind our screens and into a couple of busy rooms filled with local businesses.
This was our fourth time attending the Doncaster showcase, and it feels like the event continues to grow year on year. There were more stands, more visitors, and a steady flow of conversations throughout the day. It’s become a familiar date on our calendar, offering a reliable opportunity to catch up with people we already know and meet new faces.
A big part of both days was spent catching up with existing clients. These conversations are always valuable, not just from a relationship point of view, but also to understand how businesses are evolving and where we can continue to support them. Alongside that, we had plenty of initial chats with businesses at different stages, some just starting out, others planning to refine what they already have in place.
The Wakefield Expo, now in its second year, took place at its new venue, Wakefield WX. An event that is making itself known on the Expo scene. We are members of We Are Wakefield, and this event was a great opportunity to catch up with fellow members, clients, and many Wakefield-based businesses.
We used both events as an opportunity to introduce our website maintenance packages. These are something we’ve been developing to offer ongoing support beyond the initial build phase, helping businesses keep their websites updated, secure, and performing as they should.
What stood out most across both exhibitions was the value of simply being present. There’s only so much you can achieve through emails and video calls, and events like these are opportunities for our team to have more direct conversations.
From our perspective, both events were a success. We caught up with the right people, met a few new contacts, and had the chance to talk more openly about what we’re doing at Dark Cherry Creative. It was a very useful reminder of the importance of staying visible and accessible within the local business community. Making sure we don’t get lost behind a screen.
